Boy Dress Up Clothes Review

Most parents think of little girls when they think of dress up clothes.  Many little girls love to pretend they are princesses.  This is apparent at theme parks such as Disneyland, at birthday parties, and even at local stores where princess merchandising is overly abundant.  What happened to the boys?  What toys and dress ups are available for boys to spend their time dressing up in and pretending with?

There are many options when looking into dress ups for boys.  Whether your little boy’s hero is Batman, Spiderman, a Fireman, or an Army hero, the options are unlimited.  If your little boy has a sister, you may often find her playing a princess and him playing a prince who saves her from the wicked queen on his noble horse.  He could act as a medieval Crusader who spends his time relinquishing rich cities from their valuable goods.

Whether it’s an easy on, easy off Velcro cape, or a black cloak and wizard to play Harry Potter in, your little boy will love to pretend in his very own dress up clothes.  However, how do you find dress up clothes that will withstand the every day play that little boys will descend on them?

Disney Costumes are usually very good quality dress ups.  You can find these costumes at your local mall or online.  They generally have very good sales too.  You can often find good pirate costumes or other hero costumes in the $20 range.  Brave the mall sometime in the Fall or Spring and you may be able to find a great clearance sale for boys dress ups at the Disney Store.  These dress ups are also great for your little boy to wear for your next trip to Disneyland so he can look like his favorite character.

Your local shopping center or discount store may also carry a limited supply of boy costumes.  These are generally of a lower quality and make from shorter, thinner fabrics to skimp on price.  While they may be a little cheaper than other costumes, they are generally only a quick fix and not meant to last for a long time.  You may be able to find sales on these costumes during the holiday season.  You could pick up one of these items for a quick and easy birthday present idea that is creative and unique.

Another option is to find online retailers who sell boys costumes.  There are varying degrees of quality out there, so you may want to make sure you have found a website or online store that has a guarantee or that mentions that their dress ups are made with high quality fabrics.  Boys can be rough on toys some times, dress ups are no exception, so make sure you get some that are meant to last and are comfortable.

Little Adventures offers a complete line of dress up clothes for boys and also for girls.  The boys costumes are fully lined so they are soft and comfortable and they are easy for little boys to get them on and off by themselves.  They are also machine washable which is a big selling point among parents.

No matter what costumes your boys like, make sure you buy ones that are well made!
